Re: That car accident on Bear Mountain...
He knew she was suicidal and left her (and his 2 daughters) in a running car that was parked up on a cliff. That is just totally crazy! I wonder if he didn't think she was serious about hurting herself. It just goes to show that you never know what is going on behind closed doors since their friends and neighbors didn't know about her unhappiness.
how sad... but do you really think he should face charges?

Re: That car accident on Bear Mountain...
This really is so heartbreaking.
and the kids will be going through enough as it is, now to deal with their father being involved or being in jail... I hope not. I hope it was just a tragic accident

Re: That car accident on Bear Mountain...
I am not buying it. He is being charged with basically tempting her to drive off a cliff? Would he have been charged if she slit her wrists with a the carving knife he didn't put in the drawer?
It'a amazing the two children were ok -- thank god for super strong car seats!

I agree Christine. Something about this story isn't adding up.
Thank God those babies are ok. OMG, how frightened they must have been.

Re: That car accident on Bear Mountain...
I don't believe that he ever intended to take pictures of the scenery.
I'm guessing that they had a fight, he made some comments to push her over the edge (literally) and then got out of the car.
I don't think he's responsible for her death (she caused that on her own), but he should be held responsible for leaving the kids in the car with her when he already knew that she was unstable.

Re: That car accident on Bear Mountain...
This story gave me chills when DH told me, more so that my son and I were in were in that very area that day on the way home from downstate he was sleeping so I took the scenic route....
it just sounds so strange, first thing I thought was how does a parked car just roll down a cliff? From the photos it didn't even look like they were parked in the designated parking, but just alongside the road.
I hope they do find out what truly happened either way, how tragic and sad

Re: That car accident on Bear Mountain...
Something is definitely fishy. The poor little kids - they were strapped in while their mother was not - now they have to live with what they saw for the rest of their lives.

I am missing something, how do investigators know she was suicidal?

I think she told her husband that she planned to kill herself.

Re: That car accident on Bear Mountain...
An update was just on News 12 (Hudson Valley) that he admitted knowing that she planned to do this and knew what was going to happen.
He is being charged with promoting a suicide (a felony) and endangering the life of his two little girls.
