That thing on the news about the 2 girls making too much noise
what do you think?
i saw it on the news and then online. when i saw the news on tv i saw what kind of BS. those kids are porbably just playing and some anal neighbor... but online had more features. sit down with neighbors, recorder playing and so on.
i conclude that if soooo many neighbors complained, then there really must of been a problem. I mean everyone can understand kids being kids. I have yound kids myself but there really must of been a problem.
if it had been me, I would probably be one of those neighbors...looking bad to the rest of the world like i am some evil, anal neighbor picking on two helpless little girls.

Not for nothing, but the little girls were speaking on tv, and my mother, a speech and language pathologist, turned to me and said, "Oh lord, those girls must have been screaming extremely loud to sound like THAT!"
Their voices were really, really raspy and my mother said they most likely have nodules on their vocal chords and to develop that, they would have to abuse their voices consistently and at extreme volumes. So, I believe that they're probably loud and obnoxious.

I agree with you all. It wasn't just one neighbor that complained either, it was a few. Even the mayor said that she didn't want the kids to not be able to play, but something must be going on. And lets face it, little voices screaming and screeching even in the most of fun can be annoying.

I have kids that live behind me and kids that live across from me. And they can be very loud and annoying, screeching all the time...but I wonder what it would take for me to take legal action 0 that is just unbelievable!

I totally believe that it was excessive and the parents are being rude and selfish.
Imagine not being able to EVER sit in your yard or with your windows open without hearing screeching and screaming.
This is not a bunch of crotchety old neighbors, and a coincidence. Just a snippet of the audio tape was horrific. I would be miserable if I lived near them.
I am sorry the judge dismissed it so easily. Just b.c its daytime, doesnt mean people can take over the neighborhood and expect all others who pay good taxes and $ for their house to just bear with it.

I agree. I thought it was BS until I heard a clip of he audio tape. I also found the mother was being dumb when she kept defending her daughters. Yes they can play outside but you can ask your girls to keep it down. They are old enough to understand that they are being too loud. Sounds to me like that whole family is just obnoxious.

I agree. My kids make alot of noise and fight all the time. I try my best to stop them because I do not want to annoy the neighbors.
There is a point where kids are being kids and having fun and then there is there is the time when they are out of control and the parents just ignore them. Sometimes your kids are not angels and it is your responsibiliity to control them.

i don't buy that whole "let kids be kids" BS. it's called common courtesy, and being a polite neighbor. you don't just let the CONSTANT screaming go on and on. those parents should have more control over those kids, period.

I have about 7 kids on my block and I never hear them and they are always outside with each other and their friends. I see them riding their bikes up and down the block, playing hide and seek, and just having fun but never hear them carrying on like those 2 girls. I think the parents need to respect the neighbors and understand their girls are loud and obnoxious.

It is easy to say let kids be kids when kids who act normally live around you. From 9 am to 8 pm every day of the summer, my neighbors two little girls and about 7 of their closest friends scream and screech in their pool like someone is murdering them. Their parents never tell them to stop screaming and when we politely asked them one day to ask their kids to stop screaming so excessively, they acted as though we were insane. We can't sit in our backyard at all while they are in their pool and it is not fair. Yes they pay taxes, but so do we! I am all for kids having fun, but when I was a kid, if I screamed loudly, my mother told me to be quiet or at least keep it down so as not to annoy my neighbors. People need to be more considerate of their neighbors!

Sorry but bad attitudes like this are not ok just b/c it is something you can do and get away with (screaming, loud music, etc).
Courtesy is a must since we each dont have acres of land and each have a right to enjoy our property. If many neighbors complained, it must be pretty bad. And yes, it can be very bad for property values too.
Try selling your house and having an open house on ANY weekend these kids are outside acting like "kids". Watch your property value plummet...I know I would not bid on this house hearing that kind of commotion every weekend there is an open house.
Its just not fair and these people sadly deserve to be taught a lesson with the "eye for an eye" rule since they arent using common courtesy.
