That was a first!
My new supervisor asked me to come to his office to discuss some things - I was sweating on the way over, thinking uhhh ohhh, I'm about to get reprimanded for my time spent on LIF 
He closed the door, and asked me how I feel about the new job. I told him I'm really enjoying myself, really like it thus far, and have no complaints, and asked, um, why? Do you have any concerns you need to discuss with me?
He told me that the "office" (whatever that means) is very pleased with my performance, he's amazed how quickly I've picked things up, is comfortable giving me my own cases for now on, and said, that the "office" really wants me to stay, so if I have any concerns to bring them to him.
So, does that mean it's time to start angling for my first pay raise? 
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, THANK GOD I LEFT MY OLD JOB!!  (who, by the way, are STILL harassing me about old files!  )

OMG, I think I just realized why he felt the need to have this conversation with me today!!
I had a hearing before our county Board of Assessments to appeal our real estate taxes, so I'm wearing my best, formal, conservative suit with heels, pearls and the whole nine yards. The office is business casual, at best, so I'm never dressed like this.
I told him I had a hearing today and asked for an extra hour for lunch, but I BET he thinks I took that time for an interview!!!!

I just figured out the BEST way to angle for a raise!
The hearing went really well, thanks for asking! The county assessor was in the room, and after I presented my evidence to the Board, they turned to him and asked what he thought and he said he agreed with me that the Board should take into consideration the fact that the house has significantly less square footage than was originally estimated. They said they'll notify us in writing of the decision in 5-6 weeks.
I told Dh, if we succeed, I'm thinking of starting this as a business on the side, considering the preeminant attorney who handled these matters in our County just retired.

its always great to hear positive things at work!!
I started a new job...in a new firm but for the same partner...and I have never been happier at a job! I get asked all the time if I am happy here...and I happily reply YES!!
