That was frustrating (Bayport Light Show)
We've been planning for weeks to go with BIL/SIL/newphew to see the light show yesterday (only day that worked for both families). We questioned the weather on the way there, but both DH and SIL had looked on their website and it said nothing about being "weather permitting" or anything like that (I personally didn't look).
Drive there-- CLOSED Poor DD, we'd been talking it up since we left the house. We explained to her that it was closed b/c of the rain and she said "aw, that's ok" but asked about it again this morning.
We're going to try to go back this weekend, but we were not happy. It was a good 30 minute drive for us. When we got back home we called the number listed on their website to see if a recording came on and mentioned it was "weather permitting", and nope-- it was just an office phone line and generic message.

OMG I thought we were the only ones who did this We went last night and I checked the website and it said nothing about closing in the rain. We drove 45 minutes in the pooring rain for that We wound up driving out to Chuck E Cheese in Patchogue bc we felt bad that he was pointing out every little Christmas light thinking that must be what we were talking up. He had fun though.

We did the SAME thing, trying to overcompensate on the way home pointing out people's lights We did stop at someone's house we knew who does it up BIG, she loved that, though we couldn't get out to see the stuff b/c of the rain.
Seriously, I know it's for charity, but both SIL and I are calling to complain today. They could put on their website that it's WEATHER PERMITTING

OK I'm calling too then! Last night when I told DH I was calling to complain he said I'd be a scrooge to the girl scouts But seriously we came from far away in awful weather to see it and they should have weather permitting on the site.
We did have a good laugh though bc my DH got all excited when we got the entrance, yelling "change the radio station", "give me the money!" as if we had to hurry in. I was like, um the sign that says "Light Show" isnt even lit up, don't you think that's a bad sign?
