The baby feels what you feel?

Ok I never really believed this until a few hours ago. I was here at home taking a nap...DH has been gone overnight on a golfing trip so I have been home alone and on edge a bit (every little noise I jump at). Anyway, I woke up from a nap b/c I heard a strange sound. I didn't move my body at all but my heart started pounding and my "fear" response kicked in...I went from sleeping to alert immediately. Well, anyway...my baby started kicking like crazy!!! It was so strange because she wasn't moving at all, and then she must have picked up on my adrenaline somehow and she really started moving...

Kind of random story, but it was eye opening...

Sorry, I guess that story was pretty pointless, but at the time it seemed interesting...

I definitely think that they feel/sense the things we do....

I definitely believe this. Anytime I've been upset, anxious, happy, etc, the baby reacts by moving around, kicking, etc.

Wow, that is wild, but totally understandable I guess. That's really wacky that they can do this-- makes me feel guilty getting so worked up in traffic

ETA: I'm the same way when DH isn't home. I like everything in the house to be quiet so I can hear EVERYTHING that's going on!

Everytime I freak out when there is a HUGE bug flying near me I expect to feel her moving but I never get anything (trust me, I freak out - jump and panic)
