The beach, pools and hot tubs...
When did you take your DC in them? Should I worry about the chlorine or the chemicals in a hot tub? What about the temp? My parents have a hot tub and I'm wonderng when I'll be able to take DD in it.

Re: The beach, pools and hot tubs...
We took our son in a heated pool when he was 10 weeks old.

I was told after 8 weeks you are fine. DS has been in both pools and on the beach (in Montauk). I think the only risk is with public pools and coxsackie.
I put his feet in the water at the beach, but he was too tiny to take int he water b/c of the waves, but mommy went in.

Pools are one thing, a hot tub is another.
My BIL and SIL have one and they lower the temp when their preteen girls want to go in.
Babies don't have the ability to sweat like we do and can easily get overheated with possibly serious consequences.
I'd run the hot tub idea by your pediatrician.

ITA!! I would never put a baby in a hot tub, too hot! Pools are different.

Definitely not hot tubs. I still have not taken my DD to a public pool - she has gone into our friends outdoor pool this summer and loves it so I may have to change my mind on that one this winter!!
I dont take her to the beach in the middle of the day as its too hot, but we take her first thing in the morning or in the evening.

Re: The beach, pools and hot tubs...
Yea, I though the same thing about the temperature of the hot tub. I knew it would be too hot to put her in without turning the heat WAY down. I just wasn't sure the chemicals, etc.
