The Difference
I took my niece out to lunch yesterday with my sister. They chose "The Olive Garden". I was nervous about blowing all my weekly points on a single lunch. But I was pleasantly surprised at the fact tht I handled myself pretty good. Here is the difference between NON-WW Jeannie and WW Jeannie: ******************************* NOW: I researched on line for the healthiest options on the menu and calculated Points Value from the calorie information on their website.
THEN: I would have done a preview of the menu - just to get an idea of what deliciousness was in store with no thought to fat or calories. ******************************* NOW: "No appetizer, thanks. I'll just have the salad. Can you give me my plate of greens with the low cal Italian on the side?"
BEFORE: "I can't decide.. we'll split the calamari, the stuffed mushrooms and..some Spinach/Artichoke dip." ******************************** NOW: "No, thanks - we don't need more breadsticks or salad. I'll skip the grated parmesan on the salad."
BEFORE: "The salad and breadsticks are unlimited refills? Just keep them coming then. Can you give me a little more parmesan?" ******************************** NOW: "I'll take the Venetian chicken - can you make sure to keep the veggies free of any sauce?"
BEFORE: "I guess I'll have the Tour of Italy - that's a little bit of alfredo, lasagna and chicken parm, right?" ******************************** NOW: "Thank you - we aren't quite done yet."
BEFORE: "Yes - everything was good. Can we get another basket of bread sticks and your dessert menu?" ******************************** NOW: "Can I have an expresso?"
BEFORE: "I'll get the Tiramisu and you get the cheesecake and we'll split it!" ********************************
So my point damage? 11 points! I had most of my entree(5 points), a piece of breadstick (literally about a quarter - but I calculated 2 points just in case), salad with a little of their lo-cal Italian and a squeeze of lemon for which I calculated 2 points (yeah I brought a tablespoon.. I still can't eyeball a tablespoon of dressing without it!) and a cup of expresso for no points. I DID take a bitty taste of my sister's tiramisu - and even though I wanted to go back and glom the entire thing I showed some restraint and kept it to that little nibble.
When I left I wasn't stuffed and I wasn't starving. I was satisfied - both appetite wise AND with my self control.
THAT was a great feeling.
Now toot YOUR horn! Tell me a recent triumph in your diet and fitness routine!

Re: The Difference
Congrats!!
Unfortunately, I have no diet successes to share! I feel fatter and more bloated than EVER today! I'm hoping that's somewhat due to AF being on her way.

THAT was a great feeling.
That is so great!!!! Look at all the great changes you have made already
I think this feeling is very important to remember. Think back to this whenever you feel yourself slipping or letting loose - being in control really is the best feeling and tastes better than anything
