The disparate 'Real Housewives of New York'

Oh, c'mon - if they got along, who'd watch season two?

It was icy stares all around as "The Real Housewives of New York" gathered at the Village Pourhouse Tuesday night to watch the reunion show.

"How could you invite Alex [McCord] and Simon [van Kempen]?" Countess LuAnn de Lesseps demanded of their mutual co-star Jill Zarin.

The countess does seem to get along with Ramona Singer, with whom she huddled all night. (In case you were wondering where Zarin's loyalties lie, she was wearing a T-shirt that said "Team Jill.")

But there was widespread derision when Bethenny Frankel, on the broadcast, ruled out posing for Playboy because it wasn't "wholesome."

Says a friend: "In 1994, Bethenny starred in a movie called 'Hollywood Hills 90028' in which she played a serial killer who was topless all the time!"

In a brief conversation yesterday, Frankel confirmed that she appeared topless in the R-rated film. "I don't know whether Bravo knows," she told us. "I assume they do big background checks and stuff when they're putting the shows together."

Although Bravo has green-lit season two, sources say none of the women has yet re-upped.

"They made under $10,000 for the first season, while the Orange County housewives get $100,000," says another insider. "They can't even get their hair done at these prices."

ALthough I did watch the show, I think that these women are pretty pathetic....Alex and Ramona especially. I did like Bethenny and Jill grew on me...LuAnn did nothing for me. I really lilked the Orange county housewives much better.

I like Jill. Annoying? Yes. But funny as hell. Bethenny seems like a girlfriend I'd love to hang out with. Countess is stunning, but needs to get over herself. I think Ramona is nuts. Alex and Simon, hey...it's great they love each other so much and want to be together...but social climbers they are. I don't care if your kid can sing in Latin. He needs to learn to not throw food at the table first.

i like the OC wives better!

i'm embarrassed. i made it a point to watch this show because there were promos on alex mentioning her kids' and their schooling. i wanted to see if maybe there's a tip to be had. i didn't learn squat. now i just watch it to see how ridiculously stupid these wealthy women behave.

I really liked this show...i even got FH to watch, and he doesnt even watch tv at all.

All the women had their quirks.
I agree Ramona is Nutso, and Alex and Simon have a hidden agenda they cant own up to.

I pesonally thought Bethenny was desperate, i mean when that show was being shot, they werent even together for a year, i think about 6 months.
I think Bethenny is smart, and funny, i love the way she speaks and what she says. I personally think she is all about building her brand and becoming a household name. She is very focused and she owns it, and is a hardworker
I think her bf was an A-hole on the show, and its hard cause she wants to be a mom so bad, and she is 38, so im sure she is upset about that.
I also think she drinks WAY to much, and is probably killing any eggs that she has left. I think she needs to lay off the tequilla.

Jill, i love jill i think she is very knowledgable, about alot of differnet things, i think she was a little to obsessed with her daughter losing weight, but she works hard, and i liked that she had her daughter working as an intern.

like I said before, the children of the OC can't touch the kids from NY. The NY children "Jill', Luann's and Ramona's" weren't spoiled little brats like the OC kids.

I pointed her out to my SO....needless to say, he was like..... .

he quickly told me I need to find some more quality TV time.....
