The Duggar Baby Was Delivered Early Due To Pregnancy Complications

Doctors were forced to deliver Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar's 19th child, Josie Brooklyn, early due to a pregnancy complication called preeclampsia, according to Michelle's physician.

"The obstetrical and neonatal teams reached the collaborative decision [Thursday] that Mrs. Duggar needed an emergency C-section to ensure the blood pressure problem would not be detrimental to her or the baby," says [hospital director of Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine] Wendel.

The doctor also said Michelle was recovering well from surgery and Josie was "stable" in the neonatal intensive care unit.

I really pray for this baby. I hope she pulls through. And I don't care that they have 19 kids. They seem like a great and loving family who can more than provide for their children. I do, however, wonder if she'll stop having children now. I'm glad that they have enough faith in medicine that they allowed intervention because I know some religious people who would not allow that.
