The end of the world.
Do you believe the theory about a catastrophic event on 12/21/12 ending life as we know it? I never have but lately I feel like the details of this prediction are coming true.
For example, more frequent weather events and natural disasters such as tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes and flooding in the period leading up to 12/21/12. Also the theory says there will be a period of economic and political unrest and chaos. It also talks about prolonged or permanent power outages and that those that survive this event will need their own source/supply of food and energy.
Honestly maybe I am just anxious and tired from the events of the last 10 days but now this is scaring the bejeezus out of me!!

The end of the world.
I see where you are getting at. But the area that Sandy hit ie:power outages etc. is such a small portion of the world. I also do not think things are more frequent then they were hundreds of years ago, They are just understood more now and they are reported more.
Don't worry!

Yes, and we over in the tri-state area are only a small portion of the world!

Re: The end of the world.
I do not believe in any of that "end of days" talk. Seems silly to me. My opinion is that sh!t happens in life and just because things sometime $uck it doesn't mean the world is going to come crashing down. This too shall pass.

The end of the world.
There are millions, probably billions of people in the world who are not experiencing any of the things that you mentioned. We are one small area of the world that has been having a rough go of it.
Also, I think you are confusing a few "prophecies." I think the 12/21/12 thing is the end of the Mayan calendar, while the weather disturbances and political upheaval are discussed in revelations, in the Christian bible.

Re: The end of the world.
the Mayan calendar didn't have leap years - there have been 514 since the leap year was created.
if we'd stuck with the Mayan calendar, we would be toward the end of 2013 - and we're still alive.

No. I don't think the recent weather is a sign that the world is ending in December but more that Global Warming is very much in existence.

The end of the world.
We are a tiny part of the world. And if you look at history li was hit with 3 major hurricanes in the 1950s back to back. This is nothing new

Re: The end of the world.
Don't get me wrong-the last few storms have given me major anxiety. But as far as the end of the world being 12/21, I don't believe that. This theory is because of the Mayan calendar which didn't account for leap years so technically we should already be dead.

Re: The end of the world.
i don't blame you for thinking this way. I find the whole mayan calendar, nostradamus prophecies fascinating.
Some other events to consider are animals washing ashore or falling from the sky.
have you ever seen this video?
I don't know...the mayan calendar has been discounted bc it doesn't account for leap year in which case doomsday should have occurred...I do feel it's possible not necessarily that the world will end completely...but the "world as we know it"
it's all so scary and fascinating at the same time. I won't worry about it...whatever is going to happen will happen...only thing i'm considering is knowing where my nearest underground bunker is.

The Nostradamus stuff scares the hell out of me! There's something about NYC going under water. My mom had that video when I was a little girl and it used to scare me then!!

Re: The end of the world.
I understand we are a small part of the world but Sandy was only 1 example. Think of the recent tsunamis and earthquakes in Asia and elsewhere. And all the wars going on in other parts of the world. The increase in terrorist acts. I dont know, supposedly scientific evidence has confirmed that there are solar flares expected due to some massive change in atmospheric pressure.
Re-reading this, I sound like a total loon that needs help. But is anyone else curious about this theory?

No, not at all. We have been and continue to destroy our planet which causes/ed global warming which contribute to these events. If we don't stop doing what we are doing the extreme weather will continue.

Thank you...now you've got me watching videos...I always get a kick out of this and it's been a while since I last looked into how more current events were interpreted by nostradamus experts

Re: The end of the world.
by no means am I making fun of anyone for their beliefs...this is just to lighten up the mood.
My thoughts are as follows: if it's "true" and we're approaching the end of the world...then there's nothing I can do to stop it...so, seize the day, enjoy every single day as it's your last, and pay it forward.
