I'm not very far in yet, but ugh. It reminds me to be grateful for what I did have growing up.

I finished it last week - those parents were certifiable. I think the only reason the kids weren't taken away was that they kept "skedaddling"

yup its nuts- when things get bad financially I find myself thinking of that book and thinking that it could be a whole lot worse.
