the good news is our mortgage is paid through Decmeber....
...the bad news is somehow our credit union screwed up our auto bill-pay and has been paying our mortgage weekly for the last 4 weeks!!! 
DH noticed yesterday when we went to balance our acct. The bank says there is nothing they can do the payments have already gone out. So between that and paying our school taxes, our bank account pretty much sucks right now 
That's the end of auto-bill pay for us!

2 things to be thankful for
1- it wasn't the opposite- that they forgot to pay it - that happens more then you think
2- that you at least had the money in there b/c otherwise I bet they would have been charging you fees on top of all this!

That's true, very good outlook  We did get charged $3 because they had to transfer $ from our savings to our checking, but at least the $ was available. Luckily it wasn't a bunch of bounced check fees!
Money will be tight for a little while, but it will all even out in the end.
I can't imagine if the bank had forgotten to pay!

You better make sure you double check that they actually waived the payments for those months leading up to December.
They could have put those extra payments towards principal and you would still have to continue paying your payments every month.

They could have put those extra payments towards principal and you would still have to continue paying your payments every month.
the auto pay should automatically apply any extra payments to the following month, so she should be fine...any extra principal should have to be specified and applied differently.
eta: good thing you had thte money in your acct! in the end, it will even out, like you said.

This is scaring the crap out of me! We were just talking about switching everything to automatic bill pay when we buy a house. I guess we won't be doing this with something as big as our mortgage...
