donna, can't they bill you for this and then you pay it off a little at a time
or do you need all the money up front?

NO idea. I was told by someone on another board about 65% .
We applied for 3 loans in the last week and with my mom as a co-signer who has excellant credit and we were denied all 3 loans

That shouldn't be $7000 then...
Talk to your IVF coordinator about drug donations...they should have some there. Sometimes Cornell has some for me, if I ask the right nurse

First - yea!!! That's fantastic news!!
Holy wheatgrass voodoo!!
Second - are credit cards an option at all? I know it's not ideal, but it's paid in full and then you can work away at it a little at a time.

Re: The Grant was
OMG DONNA! YESSSSSSSS!
You have no idea how HAPPY I am the grant was approved!!!!!!!!!!!
I know that this next step, finding the $$, is tough -- but I also know you have not come this far and overcome so many obstacles for it NOT to work out somehow... keep the faith, I know that you will figure out a way!
For now let's just celebrate that your FSH was nice and LOW and that you have made it past this first hurdle

We dont have any credit cards .
Trust me Im not giving up. I will beg every person this side of the rio grande for something if I have to.
I am estatic about the FSH results and getting approved in the first place.
lisa- Im thinking your right. The bill we got was $16K , but I think that some of the services are covered by insurance, so the more I look at it, I think its more like $5K we need.
If we can get the medications covered, its even less.
Keep in mind we have no real savings to speak of.
P.s Im on disability right now, due to go back to work in like a week or two....THEN will have all these IVF appointments??!?!
Why is life so darn difficult?
barbara-we knew you were here
thanks to ALL OF YOU for your support. I love you all!

Re: The Grant was
Donna, what did the 16k bill include? It may have been a list of services that you may not need...like AH, ICSI, etc...

Re: The Grant was
This is wonderful news......................Can you BEG family and friends??? This is about the MOST IMPORTANT thing about to happen in your lives right now.......Maybe some of your close relatives will help if you ask
Ask your Mom to put it on her credit cards and then you can pay her on a monthly basis

Re: The Grant was
This is GREAT NEWS!!!!!
Sorry I didn't see it sooner, I was eating lunch.
OK, as far as the money goes... definitely ask about the donated drugs. It can't hurt to ask. I might have some for you as well. Do you know what you are going to be on? Let me know and I can give you my drugs if they are the same. I was an easy stim... almost hyperstimmed so I have a bunch left over.
Maybe family can help you out in smaller increments. Meaning, several people, loan you a small amount? I'll try to think of other creative ideas. Could DH pick up a second part time job to help pay it off?

I agree with Theresa...see if any meds can be donated. I have an HCG trigger med, but I offered it to Kara, so if she doesnt need it..it is yours
