I don't know all the details, so I hope this idea isn't stupid - what about a 0% credit card?? Keep transferring it to other 0% cards until you pay it off?

heres the financial deal.

we have no credit cards, we cant get any either
Denied 3 loans we applied for.

we asked the only two people in our family who have money and they both have a LOT in the bank, they both feel uncomfortable..geee thanks huh?

No savings.

I can only take one 401K loan out at a time, as can DH and we both still have Wedding loans out.


BUT........... My mom offered again today to use hers. I hesitate because shes 57 and all she has to her name for retirement is about 25K in her 401K She lives paycheck to paycheck....BUT both mine and DH'S cars are paid off in two months, thats about $750 a month extra in our pockets and we can pay her back pretty quickly then.

I think its our only solution.

NOW...we need to figure out how much we owe and PRAY we can get her 401K money out and in our hands in time...LOL LOL

congratulations on the grant!!! things are falling into place, so try to take it one step at a time.

not sure what fields you and dh are in, but maybe there is some easy part/time work, even work from home.

Perhaps you can take out a 401K loan instead of your mom? It is a lot less risk for your mom and this would help you to build your credit. I think you should look into getting a low limit card that you pay off each month...just to build your credit. It won't help with the IVF now but will help you in the future.

Your brother said No to you? Even though you can pay him $500+ a month back and it is not the full cost of the IVF? Can your mom talk to him and tell him that she is going to use her 401K and maybe a loan from him would be really helpful? I am so sorry that he won't do this for you. I just don't get it at all.

Donna do you guys own a home? if so could you take out some money from its equity?

you dont have cc how about applying for them now? at least you can put some on there.

how about ebay- do you have any high end purses you can sell on there?

I know you dont want to hear this but what about your engagement ring? if push comes to shove could you sell it back to the jeweler? at least you know its going for a good cause and you could always get another down the road.

what about 401k or any mutual funds you guys have done? you'll pay a penalty but so what.
