The head rest thing in the infant carseat...

When should you (if at all) take out the thing that goes around the baby's head in the carseat? It's getting tight around my son's big noggin. Chat Icon

Ours came with it (Graco Snugride), I thought it was one of those things you had to use

You can take it out whenever, and some seats don't have them, they aren't necessaryChat Icon

Christopher had (hasChat Icon ) a big head, so we took it out by about 4 mos

I stopped using it a week or two ago. DD is 4.5 months. I don't think that there is a set age to stop using it...

Nah-you'll be fine. I used it for a couple days and then got rid of it.

We are getting the seat ready for DS and I don't think I know where that piece isChat Icon

we never really used ours (in the swing or the carseat). More of a headache than a help.

Re: The head rest thing in the infant carseat...

hah! if you're worried about the headrest, then I'm a HORRIBLE mommy... I'm ditching taking the infant carrier this weekend!

We live on the second floor and it's too hard to carry up and down. I've been carrying the baby separately for about 2 weeks now (since I had surgery). If we're not leaving him in it to carry to/from the car, then what's the point, right? The convertible seat holds babies from 5 - 65 lbs and he's over 16, so we should be fine.

I have the Chicco seat and it said to remove the head insert at 11lbs. I don't know why 11lbs. but that's what it said to do. Chat Icon
