The HEP-B Vaccination - Did your DC get it in the hospital?
Why or why not? Just wondering whether most people decide on this and, what their reasons were. TIA

got mine at the PED office. I wanted my PED to have it on HER record.

We didn't get it at the hospital, our pediatrician wanted her to get it from them...she gets it at her 2-month visit with other shots

I did it at the ped's office. I did not want to subject a newborn to shots right away. I felt it was too much for a baby right away.

i had my ped do it 2 days later when i brough dd in for her checkup..i just wanted everything that needed to be done by one person so it was all recorded in one place

No. I didn't and still don't feel it's necessary at that young age. DD is almost 2 and still hasn't had it. We will give it when we feel it's appropriate.

Us 2 for both girls, one less shot they have to get later on and they were taking blood anyways

No..I saw no reason for it. I felt he was too young for a shot. The ped gave it to him at 6 and 1/2 weeks.

It is transferred by blood. Neither DH nor I do not work in an environment where we would get exposed, and at that point how would we transfer it to ds?
I honestly think it is more of a risk to vaccinate against this at such a young age...JMHO.
ETA: from the Mayo Clinic: "Hepatitis B cannot be transmitted through casual contact. For example, you cannot get hepatitis B by hugging or shaking hands with someone who is infected."
