the Insurance Company- Medical Plans arent helpful
Is it me or is so aggrevating. I called my insurance co to see what was covered and it was so disapointing
I have Emblem GHI, and only pre tresting and prescriptions are covered, They will not cover any IUI- IFU etc.
Then we call my husbands- Blue Cross and they will only cover $7500 total- no pre testing, and only 2 IUI per lifetime.
Anyone else go thru this and feel this aggrevated?

Many plans do not cover anything. It is not the insurance carrier is the what the company wants to pay for and unfortunately many companies will not add any fertility coverage because it is very expensive and companies think that many people do not use it.
It sucks but any coverage is better than nothing.

Agreed we have iui and testing coverage but no IVF. But even with the coverage the out of pocket co-pays are high and I have to jump through hoops to get the coverage I am entitled to.

honestly the insurance/cost aspect is one of the hardest parts for me. i can do a million injections but my head feels like it's spinning when i try to figure out the insurance stuff. i think it's a crime that all companies are not required to have infertility coverage in their plans.

Re: the Insurance Company- Medical Plans arent helpful
It's so overwhelming. We chose to have a baby rather than buy a house. After speaking with our insurance carriers we were confirmed that this can possibly be a very costly experience. Not sure if anyone read my post last week but we are prob leaning towards a sperm donor as well
