the Joe Torre offer got me thinking (not sports related please dont move)

What do you think of bosses offering a base salary and then incentives if the team ( or whatver type of business you are in) suceeds?

I am a teacher and i think the city just strted offering sometign alongthese linesas well the teachers get abonus if the kids pass BUT its not like they lowered teh base pay its in ADDITION to what we make anyway by our contract.

money is ALWAYS a motivating factor!

i once was an "office co-ordinator" for a large company. depending on the work we did, i would get more money at the end of our peak season.

i'm a stickler (sp) for quality and not quantity. it didn't really motivate me to push things faster.
