The Jones Beach light show
We just got back from the light show. it was nice but Im not sure it was worht $17!!

I enjoy it from the Loop Parkway when I'm driving back to Long Beach. That's about as close as I'm going to get - my cousin went last year and she said it wasn't worth the money.
Not that it isn't nice, but you think they could charge $10 for it.

They moved it this year to the parking lot of the Jones Beach Theatre (No. 5) so I don't think you can see it from the Loop anymore! We used to see it from there too.

funny you say that because we bring our kids eacvh year and it semed that we drove through quickly this year, we actually re-entered twice because it was too quick. I agree $17 is a rip off, but th ekids loved it and LOVED to see the real reindeers!! Santa was horrible, he looked like Kramer from Seinfeld dressed up like Santa

Nope. I work in the city now so I don't drive the Loop much at night anymore.

Do they have anything else besides the lights? Like hot cocoa, or something to do if you want to get out?

yes, santa's village is huge now, they have an ice skating rink, live reindeer, santa area, hot cocoa, you can buy your tree there and decorations, it was much better than any other year i remember.

no you can;t see it from Loop Parkway anymore. While I did enjoy it, it did seem smaller this year and $17 is a bit much for it!

We took the kids the other night and I was  at the $17!!! We went last year and I guess I dont remember it being $17...or it was less? Whatever the case, I don't think it was worth $17 either. I made my DH drive around 8x to get our money's worth. J/K but we did go around 2x...my 4 year old said "Lets go home" somewhere in the middle of the 2nd trip around LOL

I went one year thanks to a Z100 contest. I won a "Free carload pass"..Anyway, It was nice, but, im glad we didnt pay. Not worth $17 IMHO.
