The Maine Maid Inn in Jericho
Hi all! I'm wondering if any of you have been to a shower or eaten at the Maine Maid Inn. If so, could you let me know what you thought? Thinking of doing baby shower here.

I had my rehearsal dinner there, and then took my MIL there brunch for her birthday.
Both times the service was very slow, but I liked the food, especially at the brunch. (There was so much going on the day before my wedding, I don't really remember the food at my rehearsal dinner.)
The service is better at the Milleridge Inn, but the brunch was more expensive, which is why we didn't go with that.

My sister's engagement party was there and her shower will be there this month. It's very nice and I think the food is good.

My sis had my bridal shower there. The food was okay. My sis said they were very exspensive.
I had my DD baptism at Runyons tavern on hempstead tpke in east meadow. they have a private room, the food was DELICIOUS and found there prices to be the cheapest.

My mom had my bridal shower here. The food was good and everything went well. After all was said and done, I do feel that it was a little expensive though, but so are most places!

I have attended a christening party there. It was okay. The food was okay. I was there, DH, BIL and SIL. SIL and I said it was good. BIL and DH said it was not good.
The atmosphere was okay, kind of dark. The restroom was upstairs, which for me was awkward (I was 37 wks PG at the time).
The day we were there was during a torrential downpour, and the parking lot flooded. They did not have valet parking (not sure if it's available) so DH got soaked getting to/from the car. I'm sure that may not happen at your affair, but for us it was a minor inconvenience.
Overall, a decent place, but we would not bok a party there.
What about Milleridge Inn, not far from there. Or George Washington Manor.

The food's not bad. I think they have a nice room upstairs. Some of my students have had their Sweet 16's there.

Thanks all. Since reviews were so mixed I think we're going to pass on this place. We're going to a tasting at the George Washington Manor this Saturday. We'll see how it goes.

Just had a shower there this past weekend for my MOH. It was nice. We decorated the room ourselves with candles, flowers and pictures. The food was good, service...ok. We had a GREAT time!

I love the GWM. We were going to have DS Baptismal there, but the only available room was upstairs & since there is no elevator we could not do it. I love them though.

Maine Maid was written up in Newsday recently I believe and they completely panned it. We were there years ago and weren't too thrilled with it either.
We were at GWM for a retirement dinner a couple years ago, and the food was just ok. A little on the salty side for me though.

I just had my shower at the GWM and I loved it. I think they do a fantastic job and IMO they are much better than the Maine Maid Inn. I like the Maine Maid Inn for dinner and brunch but not for big functions. Feel free to FM me if you want any info on the GWM.
