the make-up ladies at Ulta
Do they push certain brands over other brands? I have a credit I would like to use at Ulta, I need new foundation and stuff.
I haven't been to a make-up counter in years. (I'm almost 40 years old). Not sure what brands I should be going towards

I don't know because I tend to ignore them, I don't like being bothered when I am shopping for make up.
I can suggest a great brand for 40 year old skin- IT cosmetics. Try the CC cream and the celebration foundation. Both are great.

Re: the make-up ladies at Ulta
They don't bother me. The may initially ask if I need help or looking for anything specific, but I just tell them I'm good and they leave me alone from then on. I prefer to look and test by myself.
And like the above poster, I do like some of the IT Cosmetics. I occasionally use the CC cream (regular & illuminating combined together) and their Airbrush Perfecting Powder for quick makeup.
Otherwise I'm all over the place with makeup.

I used to work at ulta. No commission, but no training i the products either. They are probably recommending what they know or winging it

May I just say, this is exactly why I hate department store makeup counters. Any in Saks are the worst offenders. You can't look without them bothering you and if you say you don't need help they stare you down uncomfortably until you either ask for help or walk away. So annoying.
