The Metformin is making me SICK!
I only take 500mg a day for this month and so far it has been making me So Sick. Total TMI but I have been having to go to the bathroom at least 4x today. Everything I eat just upsets my stomach worst. 
I am supposed to go up to 1000mg next month and if this is happening now I am so worried about how worst it will be then.
Sorry ladies I just needed to vent.

it will get better! When did you start taking it? I found it took me about 2 weeks to get used to it. You should not have the problem when its increased
unfortunately, it is a side effect, but it does go away!

I've been on Metformin for about 6-7 weeks now. I started the first week at 500mg., went to 1000mg the 2nd week, and then went to 1500mg. the 3rd week which I've been at now for a while. Except for the first day I had NO probs with the meds. I have found that you REALLY need to change the way you are eating and if you do there are no side effects to the meds. I cut out all white carbs (cookies, cakes, etc.) except for an occasional treat on the weekends and I replaced them with whole grain snacks and breads. Such a difference! I've also lost 10lbs. in less than a month. Try out changing your diet and see if that helps. Good luck!!!!! :o)

i went thru this! I had them switch me to the XR (extended relief) version and it helped me. Now I take mine (which is no longer XR) and don't have any problems w/ it. Hope you feel better soon!!! Try taking it when you get home for the night so you're not uncomfortable all day. This way hopefully it'll be out of your system by the time you go to bed.

Thanks ladies. I was wondering wether I could take it at night rather than in the am. Good to know I can because I have a full day today and was stressing out about it.
I am going today to get some healthier foods and I told DH take that halloween candy away, far away lol .

Metaformin is a type of medicine used to treat type 2 diabetes but has been prescribed to women with PCOS to aide in ovulation.
I hope I explained it right. There are ladies on here who can explain better than me.
I found this thread last night about metformin. Which I though was really good.

Its not a problem to switch it to night either--just make sure you take it with your dinner---that way it will at least be easier on your stomach.
Unfortunately, I have to take it for Type 2 Diabetes, but it has regulated my Ovulating also, which is a plus!
