The MIL who is suddenly ALWAYS here
EVERY day since the delivery. Thank god she calls first, but she is always "in the area" now. At first it was cute but now it's overboard. Hoping it's b/c DH is home from work and once he returns on Monday she won't come by so often....she lives 40 min away but lately I feel like she lives right next door. I know she wants to see her grandaughter, but enough is enough! I, personally, would never stop by someone's else (familiy or not) so much. Anyone else experience this?

Re: The MIL who is suddenly ALWAYS here
We haven't had a weekend alone in 7 weeks.
Every Thursday both DH's parents come by at different times.
My parents have been up every weekend until this one.
I'm assuming the novelty is going to wear off at some point.
Of course, they are already arguing over who gets Thanksgiving and Christmas with DS.

Yes, that's true. I love my grandson like it's going out of style and I will love my new grandbaby when she arrives in August. However, common sense must prevail. Every woman who has a child knows how tiring and difficult it can be in the beginning. I don't know why this time is picked to be around constantly. I will do this time exactly what I did last time. I wasn't there when she came home from the hospital and I told her to call me when she felt up to company. This is a time for her and her new family to bond. It is not a time to be entertaining.

Its probably because your DH is home! My IL's will usually come by more when my DH is home too, it does get annoying!!

Re: The MIL who is suddenly ALWAYS here
are you living my life? our in laws live 5 min away, so my MIL has been here almost every day, some days twice a day! I feel like I am living out an episode of Everybody loves Raymond... I know she means well but when she is here she freaks out about everything... it is too hot, too cold, dont carry the baby this way, his socks are too tight, is this the way you burp him? I could go on and on...

Re: The MIL who is suddenly ALWAYS here
I have the answer...move to another country, far away from your parents and the inlaws! Works for me!

Sadly, no. DH's mom lives in NJ, and my stepmom doesn't stop byn unless she has a friend to bring with her.

Re: The MIL who is suddenly ALWAYS here
My FIL can't be bothered. Lives 3 miles away and hasnt seen her since we brought her home from the hospital - almost 10 weeks ago.
The visits everyday can be annoying though - just keep reminding yourself she is over the moon in love with her grandchild, which is great.

Re: The MIL who is suddenly ALWAYS here
My MIL was the same in the beginning. Then it became daily phone calls from her and FIL at different times of the day.
I know it's annoying, but if it continues after DH goes back to work take advantage of it. Use her visits as an opportunity to take nap, long shower/bath or even get some chores done around the house.

YES! Or cross-country like me! If I had my annoying MIL stopping by every day I would shoot myself. The two weeks she was here when DD was born were the longest of my life.
I would set some boundries now.

Re: The MIL who is suddenly ALWAYS here
Can you blame her considering her husband?
If you have call waiting it can solve your problem quickly....if she just appears you don't have to answer the door and can always say you were taking a nap
