THE most annoying part of selling our house
has to be getting is "presentable" for people coming over to see it.
My house is always clean, but getting everything put away and straightened up when I have 2 kids under 4 years old can be daunting!
Yesterday I got a call from my RE at 11:00 am that someone wanted to come at 12:30... I literally was RUNNING around the house picking up things, putting things away, taking out garbages, making beds... it was hilarious. I only had 30 minutes to do it all as I had to leave to meet someone for work.. it was madness!!!

I'm sure people understand as long as the house isn't "Dirty." We've been in the market for a house and if I saw a house with kids running around, I completely understood if there were toys and stuff strewn about...it's just life! Don't worry about it too much.

See, now we are looking at houses too, and I completely agree. Who cares if there are dishes in the sink, or toys on the floor? But I am so anal about my house that I can't help to drive myself crazy!

We just put our house up as well, and I agree.
But then again, serious home-buyers will see past the STUFF!

this is why we just took it off the market for a while...we were going crazy!!!

I felt the same way! Luckily ours sold after 2 weeks on the market, but I was scrubbing the shower every day, and always put everything on the counters away (blender, etc.) before anyone came. I never left anything on the bathroom sink...It was so hard to live that way!

I'm right there with you. Thank goodness for a window seat, where all the toys are thrown.
rachel - sorry to hear that you took your house off the market! 
you definitely have to live differently...I feel bad I packed up so many of my kids toys! and now I clean the shower when I'm showering...LOL

I know the feeling!! Had someone come today - i had fair warning but its hard with two kids. my 2.5 year old just wants to play with his toys and eat his snack. he does not care about all the crumbs he leaves behind
