Re: The Namesake

I read it a while ago -- I read it right after The Kite Runner and for whatever reason, just never got around to really "feeling" for the characters.

So funny that you said that because I read it BEFORE The Kite Runner and never finished TKR because it paled in comparison to The Namesake (IMO). I'd love to discuss The Namesake, though. It's one of my favorite books.

I haven't read it, but I recently saw the film and it was so moving. Kal Penn is such a talanted young actor.

The book is on my very long to read list Chat Icon

I read it and loved it. The movie was just eh, it didn't really resonate as much as the book. But it really brought out the beauty of India, so it was still worth watching.

This was one of the rare times that I liked the book and the movie -- though the book was, of course, better. I do love this book!
