The real reason I don't bring my dog to stores.....
He shoplifts.
I brought him into a pet supply store in Manhattan. It was a store that welcomes dogs and they were really good at helping me to fit Oscar for a harness. By the time we were done, Oscar had pulled a box of treats off a shelf that was a lot taller than he is and he got into a basket of those marrow bone things and picked a really good one. At Petco, he tried to take a rubber toy.
I can't be the only one whose dog is guilty of petty larceny.

I will admit that my innocent looking chihuahua is 4 lbs of pizzle stick stealing machine. He totally thieved a pizzle stick in Petco one time while I was chatting up the trainer.

I still think that Oscar's best feat, though one of his easiest, was when my friend passed out drunk while eating a piece of 6 foot hero. My friend had it like hanging from his mouth and he was barely holding it. Oscar was right on it. My friend woke up, no longer had a sandwich and there was Oscar licking crumbs off my friend's face.
