The Spice Girls Take the Stage for the First Time in 10 Years
Girl power reigned Thursday night as the reunited Spice Girls performed for the first time.
"We're so excited!" Geri Halliwell told PEOPLE before she and her bandmates (Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Victoria Beckham) took to the stage at Hollywood's Kodak Theater for the taping of annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
In the audience, anticipation was also running high. Lauren Conrad of The Hills admitted that the Spice Girls' performance was her "main reason" for attending. A giddy Eva Longoria was also ready to root them on. "I'm here to support Victoria," she said. "Go Spice Girls!"
The group performed two songs, a military-themed rendition of their up-tempo hit "Stop" and their new ballad "Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)." And although the five stars lip-synched their way though both numbers, die-hard fans scarcely seemed to care.
"I was dancing and singing along. I loved it," raved Hayden Panettiere. "The Spice Girls were great. I knew every word to the first song. Enough said."
"They looked hot!" added Ryan Seacrest. "I'm looking forward to hearing the album and seeing the full show."
The night’s biggest surprise? Seal took to the stage with supermodel-wife Heidi Klum for a sweet duet. The PDA-prone couple ended the song with a passionate kiss. The show will be broadcast Dec. 4 on CBS.
The Spice Girls: Greatest Hits is on sale now online at Victoria's Secret stores. Their world tour is slated to begin Dec. 2 in Vancouver.
