The Suffolk County Fair....
Out east
I think it is somewhere around Shirley, and it's a really BIG, GREAT fair
I'm going to be in NY Memorial Day weekend, and was wondering if anyone knew when this month it is going to be?

no, they have a BIG one out east, where they have hot air balloon rides.

NO NO NO THEY BETTER NOT DO THE BALLOON FEST AGAIN!!!!!!!! It was HOORIBLE for me living right here. they did not keep there promiss to keep traffic off our streets the mess that was left was not cleaned up . it took me 2 hours to go 2 min up the street to drop off my daughter to a frieds house the NOISE OMG THE NOISE. I PRAY THE DO NOT USE THE AIRPORT AGAIN FOR THE FEST

I agree and I don't even live out there.
We tried getting to the festival last year. Waited on line for about 30 mins to PARK , paid for parking and were about to get on the bus to get to the festival grounds for a balloon ride. Ends up, they were not doing the balloon rides because of "wind". Let me tell you, everyone who waited on line to park, than paid to park were PI$$ED to say the least. We all complained to get our parking money back and left.
NEVER again. It was so unorganized and a waste!

Actually, it is a different fair - the balloon festival is off william floyd pkwy in shirley.
The Suffolk County fair use to be held at the Brookhaven National lab off william floyd pkwy - (further up).
2 different events.

2 different events.
I havent seen that one in years...do they still do it??
We just now go to the one in Farmingville on Bald Hill.

The balloon festival is in August...linky
and these are the upcoming festivals on Long Island...linky
I don't see anything at Bald Hill/Brookhaven except some concerts and the movies.....

I am sorry to hear that the Balloon Festibal was an inconvenience for you. That stinks.
I went last year and really enjoyed it. We listed to Pat Benetar and watched the balloons go up. It was fun!!!
