The Vaccine Book by Dr. Sears
Has anyone read this new book? What did you think of it?
It is supposed to be really informative.

Re: The Vaccine Book by Dr. Sears
I haven't read that book, but I have read others by Dr. Sears. I find his opinions to be somewhat alarmist and one-sided. If you read what he has to say, make sure to also read what the AAP, CDC, etc says to make your own decision.

Re: The Vaccine Book by Dr. Sears
i agree, i own the dr. sears baby book and i find him to be informative but also a little extreme in his views. i'd be interested in reading the vaccine book, but will definitely take it with a grain of salt... jmo

Re: The Vaccine Book by Dr. Sears
I would like to read the book, but as other posters have said I find his views to be rather one-sided and somewhat judgmental.

I've read the book and don't find it extremist or alarmist in the least. You should definately check it out. He does a great job of laying out facts -- reasons for and against each vaccination and leaving it up to the reader to draw his own conclusions.
He offers a great schedule for both selective and delayed vax if that's what you choose to do.

Re: The Vaccine Book by Dr. Sears
I have seen him do interviews which basically show what his views are and what he thinks and I think his opinions are way out in left field. Obviously, he is a professional and been in his field for a long time, and I respect that, but some of the stuff he says are way overboard. I listen to him and

Just curious what you object to? I read it and thought it was really balanced (actually tipped toward pro-vax).

I haven't read it yet, but I will. Dr. Sears BFing book was my bible in the first 3 months. The other books have been very informative as well...easy to read and skim through when necessary.
