The weekends and going out (at night)
What do you ladies do? If someone invites you over to their house do you go alone, get a babysitter or pack everything so that you can put him to sleep in his carseat or wherever and then just transfer him to his crib.
Most people my age(25) are notwhere I am in life, so none of my friends have babies a few are married, so they still go on with their weekends of going out having house parties blah blah.I don't mind going to a friends house for a little on a friday or saturday night to hang out, but what do I do with DS?
Just wonder what most of you ladies do if you go out.

Re: The weekends and going out (at night)
most of the time, they come to us. Very few of our friends are married and NONE have kids. DD is pretty good sleeping in her stroller if we're out (at restaurants) She has also spent a few nights at Grandma's house. I told my friends "listen, we have a baby, so our lives have changed, if you want to see us at night, either give us some notice so that we can get sitter or you have to come to us" Most of them are pretty cool about it. but, Dh & I do tend to spend more nights home now. We don't mind so much..we're sooo tired all the time! LOL

Re: The weekends and going out (at night)
I belong to a meetup group and they have a Mom's Night Out/In like once a month. I leave the girls home with DH. If we are going out with friends I usually leave them with my ILs or my mom. If we're going to a friend's house who have kids I will ask if it's ok to bring them and I just change them into their pjs before we leave so if they fall asleep on the drive home we can transfer them to bed.

Re: The weekends and going out (at night)
DS transfers well, so when we go out. I put his pjs on before we leave wherever we are and I either give him his last bottle right before we leave or while in the car. Then he's out for the night, doesn't even realize we took him out of the car seat!
If we are staying later then let's say 9, we either get a babysitter or bring the pack-n-play.

Re: The weekends and going out (at night)
Depends...
just friends for a night out around 8ish we get a babysitter or I'll do a girl's night or DH will go out for a drink with friends.
If we go on the earlier side to friends with kids we take DS and bring PJ's. He always falls asleep in the car ride home.
DS goes to sleep at 7PM. He doesn't do too well after. If it's a family dinner or something and we're out b4 7 I take him and change him b4 we head home and don't stay out too late.

Re: The weekends and going out (at night)
I have done all of the above.. when they are newborn, it's easier to bring them along (if you can't find a sitter) because they usually sleep (mine did anyway) most of the time.. otherwise, I usually either host the GTG's at my house (easier to put the kids down) or get a sitter..
that doesn't really answer your question (lol) but what I wanted to say is that you can do any of the things you suggested.

Re: The weekends and going out (at night)
We use to bring DD with us but it was easier cause she would just go down in her stroller, now I don't think it would be that easy because she loves sleeping in her crib. I would give it a try though. Otherwise we get a sitter or have them come over to our house.

we usually bring him with us whereever we go. he's still little, like your DS,so we usually just bring pj's, his bottle and rock him to sleep in his car seat and he's out for the night.

Re: The weekends and going out (at night)
At first, I was the only one with a child, she's 11 now,So I usually found a sitter for her, or she went to dads house. Eventually I started to bring her around more and more as she got older, she was able to entertain herself with her games, etc. Everyone started to get married, and preggo, so I felt it would be more accepted to have her around. Now..EVERYONE I know has babies, so we bring our kids to eachother houses. We rarely get babysitters. It's sooo nice to finally have friends with kids. If we go to a bar, we obviously would get a sitter, but that hasn't happened yet, I haven't wanted to leave DS since he's only 2 months old.
