The "Welcome Wagon"
do you guys actually read through this when it comes in the mail? its a coupon booklet thats mailed to new people in the neighborhood. i always throw it away when i see it.
the reason i ask is because the saleswoman keeps bombarding me to advertise with her. i see the whole thing as pointless. please let me know if you guys actually use these coupons and then maybe i'll consider it. TIA!

I went thru the coupons and kept what ones I liked, and then tossed away any ads.

I went through it and kept lots of great coupons. Many for free things!
ETA: We had coupons for a free pizza pie for 4 different places. So we used those to weed out the crappy pizza places and to find the one we liked best!

I saved a lot of it. There were some things I never got around to using, but there were lots of freebies. I got bagels, some first aid supplies and I think we even got a free pizza. There was also a free one month gym membership.

we used the coupons, it was a good way to try out different food places to see who we liked best. I also saved a few I never used.
DH has never advertised in the welcome wagon but he has had very good success with private community newsletters. Our neighborhood for example has a private newsletter published by the homeowners association. The ads are very inexpensive & it goes to all 800 homes.
There are two huge senior communities nearby, and he has puts ads in those papers as well. Its an effective way to target a very specific demographic or geographic area.
