Therapist recommendation in Nassau County
I need a therapist that specializes in Grief Counseling near Valley Stream NY, I don't mind having to commute up to 10 miles
I've been wanting to go for years now, but didn't want to go to just anyone I found on Aetna's website.
TIA!

I got there as well....more for medication, they have a waiting list for therapists, i am still waiting, but i like them. You meet with someone for over an hour and then they take your chart and consult w/ a bunch of other doctors and come up w/ a treatment plan.

Re: Therapist recommendation in Nassau County
oh, one thing i do not like about them is their group therapy. I am 32 and they put me in a group w/ women who HATE Men and they were all 60 and above. I felt so out of place. Yes, I am separated, but, i am not of the man haters club they put me in.... i didn't belong there and only went once. For one on one and medication, i really like it there, group, um, no, not so much.

Re: Therapist recommendation in Nassau County
oh i have a great one for, specifically, grief but she is in smithtown.
i'm sorry!!
you could try calling your insurance and getting five names/numbers of ones in your area that specialize in grief -- then, you can just try speaking with them and going with your gut based on that.
you can always switch if it isn't great.
