Things to do in CT?
HI!
I'm taking my family (me, Fh, my mom and older sis) to CT for a MUCH needed getaway on Thurs and Fri, but I need help planning.
We are planning to stay overnight in Mystic.
Thursday; All I have planned is the sunset cruise in Essex, CT, which is from 6;7:30pm. I need something to do in that area or on the way to do during the day and perhaps a dinner suggestion.
Friday: Planned to do the Aquarium and Olde Mistick Village and then dinner around sunset at the S&P Oyster co before driving back home. Is that enough to fill a day?
If you can suggest something for Friday that would be great. We are looking for relaxation! The boat is perfect because it has beautiful sights and it's relaxing, so something else along those lines is good!
THANKS

Re: Things to do in CT?
you're also close to Rhode Island, why not head up there and drive around a bit for the day
don't forget the casinos aren't too far from Mystic - Foxwoods and Mohegan
have fun!

Re: Things to do in CT?
You can stop in New London- they have some cute shops over there...
Mohegan Sun would be a good stop too- even just to walk around and see it, without gambling...

Re: Things to do in CT?
We vacation in the Essex area, so there are a lot of things to do.
For a very casual eating, go to the Crow's Nest at the Marina, and you can order a late lunch/early dinner and sit out on the back deck over looking the water.
For a more fancy dinner, go to the Griswold Inn.http://www.griswoldinn.com/Pages/Dining.htm
To kill time, you can visit the Maritime Museum (Connecticut River Museum). http://www.ctrivermuseum.org/
There are a ton of little shops to browse in too. Such a quaint little town. What about the Spa of Essex: http://www.thespaofessex.com/
