Thinking of getting into scrapbooking...
I have a baby on the way and I really want to use all of her ultrasound pics to start a scrapbook. Is there some sort of scrapbook starter kit that I can buy that is easy and fun to use?

I don't live in NY otherwise I'd tell you where to go, but my scrapbooking store has TONS of baby stuff, and they do sell kits too to make it easy to make a scrapbook. I think I've seen them in Michael's too. You can also sign up for classes to learn some techniques.

Where do you live? I am in NJ...
I guess the best thing to do is to check out my local Michaels..

Re: Thinking of getting into scrapbooking...
Alicia...i do this..scrapbook and with practice you get better and better. My friend is AMAZING at it!
AC moore is a good place as well, should be one in NJ. their stickers are always on sale for most part.
Get yourself some pages, 12x12 or smaller ones and use your imagination.
Some books even come pre made, like a kit so that might be a start for you and you can fill it in more.

Re: Thinking of getting into scrapbooking...
Take a look around at the stores.
Some of the kits are great but sometimes when you buy a kit you may not like everything in it. You have to decide whether it would be more economical to only buy the items that you really like.
12 X 12 is a very standard size and I once started an 8 1/2 by 11 book and regretted it. Now I do all 12 x 12 books but also some mini books when I have time.
Oh, you mentioned sonograms. I've heard that you should make copies of them and use the copies in your scrapbook. I am not sure why but it could be the case that the originals are not on acid free paper. They may eat away at whatever paper you adhere them to. I think I have also heard that the paper that the doctors use will fade in time.
