That's why I worked hard at pushing it to later in the day because honestly I needed that break. If she was done napping by 12:30 I would not be in good shape. It took time but we're there.

Same here! I keep Jack up until 2 and he naps from 2-4 which makes that rough late afternoon part of the day a little easier.

Maybe I should try keeping Alex up, lately she goes down around 11:30am & naps for about an hour, that's about all she needs for the day!!!!!Chat Icon

RJ too! He NEEDS 2 naps a day- no buts about it!

Why are you transitioning to one nap- Is it what Aly is doing to herself- or something you are implementing?

This chart has always rang true for my DC- it dosent mention going down to one nap a day until 18 months...

(I got this from baby center- hope this works:)

Age, Nighttime sleep,Daytime sleep,total
1 month 8.5 7 (3 naps) 15.5
3 months 10 5 (3 naps) 14.5
6 months 11 3 ¼ (2 naps) 14 ¼
9 months 11 3 (2 naps) 14
12 months 11 ¼ 2.5 ( 2 naps) 13 ¾
18 months 11 ¼ 2 ¼ ( 1 nap) 13 ½
2 years 11 2 ( 1 nap) 13.5
3 years 10.5 1.5 ( 1 nap) 12

Re: This 1 nap transition is TOUGH

Maris,

It seems she is doing it to herself....she STILL seems tired at the 2 1/2 hr mark after waking up and will sleep up to 2 hrs putting us at lunch time.

Then she eats lunch and hopefully she'll go down for that 2nd nap 2:30-3pm. Yesterday, I put her down at 3:30 and let her fuss....she slept a tad, but it was enough to take the edge off. She woke around 4:15 and bedtime was still 7pm.

No matter how many naps or what time she wakes, bedtime is STILL 7pm.

One day this week, she slept for 3 hrs 15 min and that was it. It's not like she is cranky or anything.

She just seems to be able to stay awake longer.
