this ad annoys me..
i saw this posted on craigslist..under jobs...
A dynamic family of four is looking for an energetic person to do all housework, afterschool childcare and evening meals. Energy, Organization and a skill for healthy cooking are a must. Occasional weekend hours are also needed. Honesty and excellent references are a must!!!! Only serious inquiries please.
UM WHY DONT THEY JUST ASK FOR SOMEONE TO DO EVERYTHING A PARENT SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR... seriously annoys me

Probably because both parents work... most likely are doing very well making good money. When they get home... they probably don't want to be bothered with the everyday stuff.
Hell... if I had the money to spare I would do the same thing.

Re: this ad annoys me..
I have to say I really don't see a problem with this ad at all. A family of four means probably 2 working parents that are exhausted from working long hours with 2 young children and they need some help with getting dinner on the table (a healthy dinner no less!) and getting chores done around the house. What's so wrong with that?? Maybe one parent works nights and the other needs a hand by the end of the day after coming home late from work.
So people who hire live in nannies would be wrong too?
Not everyone has their family (Moms, inlaws, etc) around to help with watching the children when things need to get done on the weekends/weeknights. Not everyone can afford to live on one income so that one parent can be a stay-at-home. They need to work to give their children a better life or maybe just to even make ends meet. So they shouldn't have children because they need a little help getting things done around the house - probably only temporarily??
I think it's harsh to pass that kind of judgement on this family based on this ad.

I agree, maybe they want more time to play with the kids instead of getting all the "business" done.

i Completely agree. Also, most schools get out around 3pm, and Generally, people work until 5, and then still have to commute. So i would assume that, most likely, they need child care during those hours. And if dinner's ready when they get home... then they have more "quality" time to spend with the kids

I agree with Sandra. Im not the type of person who would hire a nanny. I don't see a point to it but... More power to the people who do.
I can see what Sandra is saying about them wiorking late and stuff. I dont have kids and I feel like I have no time for anything!

And many live-in nannies do all those things, like cooking and cleaning too.....if we have children, they will have no grandparents to help, since both sets of our parents have died. We will both have to work if we want to have a house one day, and we are older with a lot less energy. Putting this ad in the paper sounds good to me if I could afford the extra help when I have kids! It would give me more time with the kids and less on cooking and cleaning.
