This Baby Beat monitor is going to put me over the edge!!!! HELP!!!

I am just over 14wks. and I should be able to hear the heartbeat BUT either I am not sure what I am listening to or I can't find it. I hear all kinds of noises, swishing sounds, HB sounds, blood flow sounds but I just don't know which sound is the baby's HB. What I am picking up seems too slow, like it's my HB, but I'm not sure. I keep listening to the CD to get an idea of what the baby's HB should sound like but I am having NO luck!!! I am going crazy!!! I know everything is fine and I am not worried about that but I just didn't think it would be this difficult to detect the HB on my own.

Any suggestions??????? Any tips????????? What did your baby's HB sound like?? Thanks!!!!!!!!!

Lay down, and start very low. I mean like ON your pubic bone, inside your underwear low. Then slowly move up... you will find it! Chat Icon

I agree...Mine was really low also and it sounds like your hb just a lot faster. Our little one's hb is averages around 160 beats per minute. I heard it for the first time at 11 weeks using an at home doppler.

Did you get that "galloping horse" sound like they say it sounds like? It's so hard distinguishing the sounds you hear in the womb. It's very frustrating!!

Thanks for the advice, I will try what you suggested. Maybe I am not low enough. I was just below my belly button.

Definitely not low enough! Try again really low and let us know if you find it.
When you hear it you will know it.

Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!! You were SO right!! I was not low enough at all. I just did it again and found the HB right away with NO problem!! It was so fast the HB and you cannot mistake it for anything other than the baby's HB. My DH and I timed the beats and it's about 144bpm. AAAAHHHH!!! I am SO excited and SO relieved!! Thank you!!!!!!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

No problem! I am so glad you found it.
Most people start off too high... I was lucky I had my sister to warn me of this early on so I never had a problem.

Thanks again!! I had NO idea you would detect the HB so far down. I thought the baby was higher. I'm so glad I found it. It's awesome!!

I got it at BabyBeats.com. I got the middle of the road model (Model 150A I think) which can record the baby's HB. It was about $150 to rent for 6 months. It was very affordable and now that I found the HB it is GREAT!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon
