This board has so many angels!
I am just thinking about how there are so many efforts being made by the people who frequent this board to help animals.
Domino with her nightly posts about kitties who need good homes and are on the kill lists...
Jillibabi just posted a few dogs in a rescue in CT looking for homes...
Mushegirl (sp?) who also is always on the lookout for animals needing to be rescued...
All of the people who went to shelters first when looking for a family pet...
Various other animal advocates who I have seen posting over the past few months...
And the amazing, wonderful fur-parents who post about the love that they have for their fur-babies daily.
It is a wonderful thing and I just wanted to take a minute to say how glad I am to be part of a group of animal lovers, and low lucky Long Island is to have all of you!

I agree! It's nice to come on here and see how many people truly care, although I don't post a lot!
And take some credit yourself Melissa! You just helped me so much with the info for the strays!

Aww of course! It breaks my heart to see so many shelter dogs without homes, especially ones that are not likely to be adopted because they are older, or too big, or because of their breed.  I look at my pit Lucy and if we didn't rescue after being abandoned in the park, I doubt she'd be alive today and that kills me! She's such a good dog- even if she broke a bunch of Christmas ornaments last night!

I am also a softie for shelter dogs and I truely believe that if you are persistant in checking out shelters while looking for a pet, the right one will find you. There was definately a moment when our dog Charlie "clicked" with me when I was on the hunt, and this was after months of checking out the shelter without any matches.
She could not be any sweeter or more appreciative of her home. She gives us love and happiness every day and I believe it is because she knows what it is like on the other side.
Major hugs to all the Animal Angels out there! You are all doing great things!

I also think it's wonderful, this is one of my favorite boards to visit now even though we don't have our kitty any more :(
I wish we could have dogs in our coop building , we would adopt 1 or 2 in a heartbeat

I have to say- I was lying in bed the other night with my sweet little shelter pup while DH was feeding him Lucky Charms, and it was the most amazing thing. We've only had him for 2 months, but I couldnt imagine life without him now.

Karma will come back to all you angels... and to all the wonderful angels who adopt, help, rescue, raise, and love an animal.
While it is my choice to adopt and I strongly urge everyone to... I know there are reasons that some can't ...but know you too are an angel who is raising a wonderful addition to the animal community!
