This is kind of embarrassing, but I am really starting to get annoyed by it....
EVERYWHERE I go strangers call me "ma'am". I am 27 years old!!!!! Ever since I got engaged two years ago I have noticed that I am called "miss" less frequently and now it's ma'am all the time. I don't think I look that old!
Maybe I am giving off some vibe or something, but even if I look 35 people still shouldn't be calling me ma'am. Isn't that reserved for much older women?
I am pregnant and barely showing, so I don't think that is it, but maybe my pregnancy hormones are making me more sensitive to this.
Please tell me I am not the only one that gets called ma'am at such a young age???

I got called ma'am at 25 once...I was shocked...
I'm sure the hormones aren't helping now either...don't worry...I'm sure you're a hot momma..

You know I get annoyed when people call me ma'am cause I dont want to look old but then I get annoyed when people call me miss cause I'm not a little kid!

I was ma'am'ed twice in one day - it was the first time & on my 30th birthday.
Now that I'm older then dirt and look my age, I don't mind it as much.

I get ma'am'ed a lot, too. But now that you brought it up, I wonder if it's a reaction to people seeing my engagement and/or wedding ring. If it's because of that, it's out of respect to the fact that we aren't "single" anymore, and are no longer a "miss." That, I can deal with. If it's because I look old, that I'm not happy, but maybe it's the former reason. I do, after all, get ID'd buying cigarettes every now and then (and I've been legal for that for 14 years!)

You think that's bad??? I was in American Eagle Christmas shopping for my neices and nephews and the guy helping me said, "lemme guess, you're buying this for your son"
I wanted to slug him. I'm only 29.
