This is so lame - should I go to the doctor?
So yesterday, being the spaz that I am, I got a splinter from my welcome mat (don't ask   ) It's the tiniest little thing and I couldn't get it out, but it hurt like a mo-fo.
This morning, I woke up and my whole finger is swollen and t feels like I have fire pokers going up my arm. I feel like a loser going to my GP for a splinter, but I don't want it to get infected! It's in one of my knuckle creases, to top it all off, so every time I try to bend my finger, I see stars. I don't even think the actual splinter is visible - it just looks like a tiny dark dot.
(I tried getting it out on my own with no luck and I probably would have ripped a hole in my finger if I had kept at it)

yeah, you should go. if only because it hurts.
Tell the doctor that you were fighting off monsters with your welcome mat. make it seem tough.

I'm going to go after I get around to showering.
I like the monster story idea. Totally sounds more believable than what I was actually doing!

Because of the swelling and the shooting pains, I would DEFINITELY go to the doctor.
So you're going because of pain, not really because of the splinter!
