This is why Angelina should have waited.
We're kind of confused about Angelina Jolie's shooting schedule for the rest of the year. Last week, she said, "I will stay at home to help Pax adjust to his new life. I have four children and caring for them is the most important thing for me at the moment." It was just announced that she plans to star in the graphic novel-based Wanted with James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman, which begins shooting in Eastern Europe in May. Then she'll shoot the Clint Eastwood-directed The Changeling in the fall. She is also scheduled to star in Atlas Shrugged, adapted from the Ayn Rand novel. Obviously she won't be staying at home very long.
Angelina has two films coming out this year: as Mariane Pearl in A Mighty Heart, and as Grendel's mother in the classic Beowulf. She also voiced the character Tigress in the upcoming Kung Fu Panda.

well im not a mom..but in her defense...she has one of the only jobs where her kids can be with her all day. most moms i work with have to leave therir kids at home after 6 weeks.

Her kids can be in the same place as she but when you are on set and working 14 hours a day they are with the nanny in the trailor not with her getting used to the new family, the new home and the new life.

ita. and you never know what she could have negotiated in terms of time on the set - she could set a limit, she's a big enough star to make demands.

When you are the lead in a movie it is pretty much a done deal that you will be on location when the movie starts shooting.
I guess my problem is that she told the press that she planned on staying at home with her kids and helping to acclimate not only Pax but her other children to their new sibling. However she knew full well (according to this article), that she was to start shooting less than 5 weeks after coming home.
I feel like this poor kid is going to be ripped form everything he knows, have his name changed and then once he starts getting a little comfortable everything will change again.
I know everyone thinks this is a great thing she did but I think her timing was all wrong and she lied to the press about staying home for the good of her family.
I used to like her but now she makes me nauseous.

i think that was all in good fun...and i think that entire interview was so misconstrued. i dont call myself a fan of hers, i really dont feel strongly one way or another about her...but i think people give her a bad rap because of her past choices and dont give her credit for what she does now.
now that im going on this  ...i think even she realizes that she has it easier then a lot of people...but her name brings more attention to certain causes than they may get without her name on it. shes not looking for praise..shes following a passion and i think thats great.

It's March. IMO she's taking a standard maternity leave of 3 months. She didn't say she wasn't going to do a movie again nor did she indicate how long she was going to be a SAHM.
I agree that she has a plumb job & can have her children on the set - just as Brad Pitt did with Shiloh on the last movie set. If you're familiar with movie sets, there is A LOT of downtime while they're setting up, on breaks, etc. It's a lot of hurry up & wait.

Excellent point. Most kids in orphanages only dream of a day where they can have parents to call their own. It's tough to adjust to change. This child is going to have an education, wear shoes & never be hungry.

I wish I could find the article where Gwen Stefani called her son a "blob" and she wasn't flamed for it....I think they used that word for a funny way to describe the first few months where a baby really doesn't do anything but eat and sleep.
I think she's a wonderful mother...she's always with her kids and is showing them things that they will learn from and appreciate. Not to mention how she will provide for these children that had Nothing.

Totally agree. I honestly don't see a problem with anything she's done...I think people just like to find fault in others for some reason or another.

Give the woman a break. She did a terrific thing here. She IS giving this little boy and her other children great lives. What is the problem?
I bet even with working she will spend more quality time with all her children than the typical 9-5 working Mom (no offense to working mom's). Plus think of all the people the children get to be around who will fawn over them.
It stinks that there are people that want the sun, moon and stars to be aligned 100% of the time in order for life to be good. She adopted children from far worse situations than they will ever know for the rest of their lives. Cut her some slack.

100% agree AND with the point about standard maternity leave AND that Brad will be there.
C'mon...I guess she should have left him in Vietnam, in a poverty stricken orphanage??? Whatever.

Actually my daughter is now 23 yrs old, and I never called her a blob with no personality.
I don't have a problem at all with what she's doing. I actually think it's great that she can do it. I just don't care for her. Never did even before the kids.
