This may be a stupid question about bumper

Please don't think I'm stupid, but when (if ever) is it safe to put the bumper back in the crib?

Re: This may be a stupid question about bumper

DS is almost 19 months old and has always had the bumpers on his crib.

Re: This may be a stupid question about bumper

I don't think it's a stupid question. We took our bumpers out when DS was 3.5 months and rolling over in his sleep. We put in the breathable bumpers. I have no idea when it would be OK to put the regular ones in.

I am too paranoid. There are too many times I go check on DS and his face is pressed up against the breathable bumper. I don't want that happening against a regular one!

I will never use the traditional ones. I will only use the breathable bumpers.

I *think* I will put mine back in when DS is about 15 months or so.

My DD is 17 months and I have never taken them out. I've never had any problems.

Re: This may be a stupid question about bumper

We had none for DS, and only the breathable ones for DD.

Initially, the "regular" bumpers aren't safe, for the potential SIDS risk. After they are past that risk, many DC use the regular bumpers as a step to climb out of the crib... Chat Icon Chat Icon
