This whole Jess and John Mayer thing...
Am I the only one who thinks "John, why???"
I know, he's not the most handsome guy in the world, but she is like the antithesis of what I would expect him to go for. I picture him with some chick like Jewel or Joss Stone...

I can understand why she would be with him. He is safe - not overly good looking and maybe, in her mind, she thinks he would never leave her.
Why he is with her is beyond me. Any guy who can write the way he does in generally an intellectual. She is not. Even intellectuals get bored with a pretty face after a while. Unless she is one heck of an actress.
Can anyone who has seen "The Dukes of Hazzard" comment?

Let's point out that none of us really know these people. She's got a persona, and I think her whole dumb thing is an act. Who knows about him? He could just be very aloof and shy but be the sweetest, most perfect man for her right now.

well, she was in about 5 scenes and spent most of them undressed or undressing, so unless her cleavage are up for any awards, I would say he isn't with her for her acting skills.
I was actually ******. Daisy Duke used to be a cool charachter who was as smart and tough as any of the guys. In the movie, her only "skill" was getting naked and seduing the truth out. Literally. in one scene she walks into the polcie station in a bikini
