I can't believe it's only a maximum of 2 years in prison. She deserves much worse.
Honestly, penalties for animal cruelty need to be a LOT harsher.. a LOT!
There are like no consequences for harming animals and it's truly disgraceful

ITA! Hurting animals, IMO, is just as bad as hurting a human! 
I  CPS stepped in as well!

And another poster said where was the father...I think he passed on as per the article too.
When I read about stuff like this, as a mother, as a pet owner, and a human being, I can't comprehend it. She must not have all her faculties. Thinking that she does have her faculties intact, it can only make you sick of her evil ways....especially hurting the animal in front of her child.....

And she has already time served with good behavior.
As someone else mentioned... There should be harsher penalties for cruelty against animals.
Often, people who kill people, start out with animals... Guarantee one of her kids would be next.

maximum of 2 years?!? Not only did she torture and kill animals, which should have a harsher penalty in itself, she abused her children! Slapping a one year old (and I'm sure she did plenty more that isn't listed) and not letting her children use the bathroom or shower in a dirty, feces covered house?!? WT F is wrong with this "justice" system??
