Thomasville Furniture ?
I know many people who have said they got theirs discuounted through NC, but then I'm reading that Thomasville has pulled everything and gone completely private ..........
Any furniture gurus out there who can tell me if I'm screwed and will have no other choice but the pay full $$$ for this bedroom set ? OR do I have hope for a bargain ???
TIA !!!

I ended up at Macys Furnture and we get it at the end of the month.
We are buying two pieces by Bernhardt. Excellent quality.

Re: Thomasville Furniture ?
Interesting. My SIL bought Thomasville Furniture through some NC company. She got the furniture but the place went out of business shortly after that. It was about 4 months ago.

This is where I went He quoted me about $8k for the Queen sliegh bed, 2 night stands, dresser, mirror, tall dresser, and this beautiful old fashioned looking mirrored chest that I fell in love with ........
I have never had to buy furniture before, So, is $8k reasonable for good quality furniture that I will obviously own FOREVER ??? - I have NO clue !! My Mom's Bedroom was $4k 30 years ago and it still looks brand new, so I guess the saying 'You get what you pay for" is true, but is the quality of what I'm buying today as good as what she bought in 1975 ??? I have NO Idea !!

I didn't get a quote from a Thomasville set but a brand called Thunderbird that is also good quality solid wood furniture. I went to Route 110 Clearance Center and they quoted me $5k for a king sleigh bed, 2 night stands, a wide dresser, mirror and a tall dresser. I didn't think that was bad but I did find it at an online dealer for $3500. Good luck!

Re: Thomasville Furniture ?
I have a new queen sleighbed bedroom set, with a dresser, two nightstands, and an armoire, for way less than $8K...
I got it at Penn Furniture on 110.

Re: Thomasville Furniture ?
I know Thomasville has lowest price sales where all them can't go below a certain price...have you found out when the next sale will be? I know when I looked they told me that..although I still bought from NC.
I bought my stuff awhile ago though. At that time the regulation was the NC vendors couldn't go below the lowest Thomasville sale pricing...but there was a loophole if you were an existing NC Thomasville customer before the regulation was passed then they could. Not sure if that changed. My inlaws were existing Thomasville customers from the NC place I went to and it worked for me. We had to submit proof they bought their set there over 10 years ago - lol!! But I called other NC vendors and found others who did quote me - just this one came in the best for me. Esp if you or someone you knew bought from them in the past. Keep trying NC if you can and see if you can get a rec from a friend who bought from the company and use a name.
I do agree Thomasville - you get what you pay for and the stuff is high quality.

Re: Thomasville Furniture ?
We were really close to buying our dining room set from Thomasville a couple of weeks ago. They have prices on their website now and you can expect to pay abut 5-7% less in the stores. We pushed hard for a lower price but no go. They were offering a rebate of sorts ($200 back from$2000, I think?) but that was about it. They do have 12 months of interest free financing.
But we had a really good experience with the staff there and definitely would have bought from them but we found something we liked a tiny bit better.

Re: Thomasville Furniture ?
I don't think you can go wrong w/Thomasville. yes does $8,000 seem like a lot of money absolutely but like you said you get what you pay for. I had a Thomasville set w/my first husband and for obvious reasons I sold it and I regret it everyday. You opened the drawers, they were solid, the bed was solid. I loved everything about the set & I paid about $6,000 but that was over 10 years ago. I'd try and haggle w/them somewhat and just come out and say we'd like to pay $7,200 (for arguments sake) and see what they say, what's the worst they say no? Just ask if they can do better w/the price.

That was probably Rose Furniture- we bought our furniture there (not Thomasville, but they carried it for a discounted price) but I found out recently that they were going out of business - its a shame too, we literally saved thousands of dollars!

Their stuff is definitely worth the $$. I sometimes worry about whether I would get sick of something that I've spent a lot on. However, Thomasville furniture does have value if you go to sell it as used later on.
I am trying not to finance furniture but some of these no interest deals make it easy to decide to delay payment.
