Re: Those looking for Digital SLRs
question- kind of related, but kind of not....
most photos that i have seen taken from an SLR come out Amazing... i can definitely see the difference between that and a regular digital camera... BUT... is it beacuse the camera makes it That much better... or does it really depend on the photographer.
i mean, i know you do need to have 'an eye' to take an extraordinary picture.... and i think i take pretty good ones (not super flashy though.. excuse the pun ).
So... i'm curious if its worth it for an amateur (like myself) to get one... or if you should deveopyour skills before invseting in it. From your experience, what would you say??

Since I know jack about cameras, photography, etc, I'd say it's worth it to get the digital SLR. I think I've gotten significantly better since going digital. I can play with a setting take a photo, put the setting back & see the difference (or mistakes) in the photo right away.
A digital SLR is the last camera you'll buy. Worth every penny!

Re: Those looking for Digital SLRs
That is a great deal... We paid $800 for our D50 back in May, but ours also came with the bag to carry it all, and an additional lens, a 70-300 mm one.

That's a great deal...I wish I had the money for that!
When I was with Barbara for the photo shoot, she let me take a picture with her camera to show me what it's like. I thought it was quite easy! Just point and shoot...of course it's a little more detailed with the zoom but I loved how quickly you can take pictures.

Re: Those looking for Digital SLRs
I use mine on point and shoot only and the photos just come out amazing...I think its worth it even if you just use the automatic setting!
And it looks so impressive...everyone will flock round you to admire you and your camera. Also, they will automatically assume that you are a wonderful photographer when you clearly are not. So for that alone, its worth the money!!
