Those of you who passed the one-hour glucose screening...
I have a question for you. My doctor's office told me not to fast, which surprised me because I thought everyone had to fast beforehand. (Since then, I've done some research indicating that the fasting takes place before the three-hour test, not necessarily the one-hour.)
Anyway, what did you eat before your one-hour screening, if you were allowed to eat?
I just want to pass the test!
Many thanks in advance...
ETA: My test is at 9:00 am, so I guess I'm looking for relatively "safe" breakfast foods...

Re: Those of you who passed the one-hour glucose screening...
My doctor's office told me to eat like usual before the test. The prescription said non-fasting.
The night before I was sick so nothing stayed down and the morning of I ate one scrambled egg with a piece of cheese. (you'll see why I share this with you...)
I went for the test at 9am. They took blood before the drink and then gave me the orange flavored drink. After an hour they took two viles of blood.
When I called my doc a few days late the office said I passed. When I went in the following week I sat with my doctor to go over the results. When she saw that they took a fasting sample she flipped. I got nervous that the results were wrong but she assured me that even though they made a mistake - it resulted in her being 100% confident that there were no problems since I passed a fasting test after eating.
So....it would seem like the norm is to be able to eat but my advice is to eat light and if they take the blood first remind them it is a non-fasting test.

My doc told me not to eat or drink anything after midnight the night before for my 1 hour.
I went first thing in the am to the lab.

I would fast. My doctor told me not to and I just had a piece of plain wheat toast and although I didn't fail, I didn't get the "optimal" number and had to take the 3 hour.
Skipping breakfast would have been worth it to me to not have to have taken the 3 hour test.

I didn't fast and ate regular things, just whatever I felt like that day. I do rememeber her asking the last time I was food and it was at 4pm and my test was at 5:30. SO, I guess dont; eat anything ritgh before.

Re: Those of you who passed the one-hour glucose screening...
My doctor said it wasn't ideal to eat right before the test. She told me to eat protein if I absolutely needed something to eat.
I went first thing in the morning so I hadn't had anything since the previous night.
