Did you invite your babysitter/nanny to your child's b-day parties?

I wanted to invite Jordana's babysitter. I thought she may enjoy celebrating this major milestone with our family and friends.

But is that wierd? Will she feel obligated to come- like its part of her job? My babysitter is not a great communicator about awkward things. So I wanted to get some feedback before I invite her.

TIA!

i don't have one, but my friend who does, always invites the babysitter to her sons birthday parties. i think it is nice gesture to extend, and would be greatly appreciated.

When I used to babysit, I was always invited to the parties and always went! I was always invited to their music shows and everything that they did. I loved going because I loved them!

So, needless to say, my answer is YES I think you should invite her.

We had a baby naming for our DD and I did invite our nanny but I invited her close to the event so if she did have something to do, she wouldn't feel obligated to go.

I also told her that if she was free, we'd love for her to come, but if not, we understand and not to feel obligated. I thought she might of felt wierd since it was really just close family and friends and not at our house but in a temple. And I did NOT want her to feel obligated to bring a gift.

I won't have a baby sitter for Chat Icon when he is born that isn't family, but growing up my babysitter always came to our birthday parties.

She and her husband even came to my weddingChat Icon
