Those on Metformin/Glucophage....
how long did it take you to ovulate? My dr said I need to take it for at least 5 weeks and then we will try IUI with chlomid. Do you think I won't ovulate this first time?

Re: Those on Metformin/Glucophage....
When I started the Met I ovulated the next month, however my stomach didn't handle the met well. I was so sick and pretty much took it every now and then but never the full dosage of 1500mg. I then started clomid which helped me ovulate but now I started back on the met (1000mgs) hoping that I will ovulate on my own.
You may ovulate on your own if you take the full dosage but definitely take the lower dosage and work your way up. I've heard met takes a while to get you regular. Lots of luck!

Re: Those on Metformin/Glucophage....
I have always ovulated so I think I am on it for other reasons.
I did notice that it did lengthen my luteal phase and I ovulated a couple days later then before I was on it.
I started on one a day the 1st week 2 a day week 2 and now for the past month and a 1/2 I have been on the 3 a day
I am sorry if I am not too helpful
Good luck!

Re: Those on Metformin/Glucophage....
It took me till the third cycle to ovulate. The first cycle I had really bad ovarian pain. The second cycle the pain was barely there and the third I ovulated . My doctor said it usually takes 3-6 months but everyone is different. Good luck
