Those that have kiddies in the bed with you
I dont mean to worry everyone, but just a "be careful". We stopped cold turkey. Trust me, we LOVED having the little monsters in bed with us. Yes, terrible habit, but so cute and so fun. Yes wake up with a bad back and barely get any sleep, but so cute and so fun... we NEVER had them in our bed under 18m old, but once the toddler years hit, we figured theyre ok with tossing and turning if they have to free themselves from a blanket on their face..
but one nite, my hubby decided THATS IT. Luckily, all was ok, but we didnt want to think of what could have happened.
Johns a very deep sleeper. For the past few years, that Im a few million hours behind in sleep, I have been too (wonder why ) so a few weeks ago, john was tossing and turning and moved his pillow, and my kids sleep like wiggle worms, legs here, feet there, all sorts of positions, twists and turns.. so john went to move his pillow and John Anthony had gotten into this habit of winding up sleeping across our heads figure that one out, how does happen??? so in the middle of the nite, john lifted his pillow and had no idea that John Anthony's face was under the side of his pillow, and as john lifted the pillow, John anthony went huh huh huh huh uhuh huhuhuhuhuh. taking deep breaths, catching his breath. Scared the crap out of john and that was it. We thank God that it ended this way and this was MORE than enough of a warning for us...
I didnt mean to scare anyone, but just wanted to share it as a word of caution.

Re: Those that have kiddies in the bed with you
I know, we did never started off with Liam in bed with us and to be honest (please don't take offense anyone!) I can't imagine co-sleeping like that nightly. Then again we have a fluffy pillow topper attached to the bed which has alot of fluffy 'dimples' that makes me nervous about having Liam in bed. If the bed was flat, then maybe I would not mind so much. The longest we did it for in one night was from 2am to 7am and even then I hardly slept a wink. One night I almost rolled on top of him!!! DH was getting up to go to the toilet and said "watch him I'm going to the bathroom" and I was 1/2 awake and said "uh huhhhhh" and rolled onto my back and DH saw me and went "HOLD ON" and pulled me away...omg. I didn't even feel Liam under me!! I'm sure I would have but still....it just scares me. I am going to buy a Snuggle Nest tomorrow I think. We were supposed to get one from my cousin but they have yet to send theirs to us so I am thinking they forgot and I don't want to bug them.
I love the idea of co-sleeping but for us, the cons outweighted the pros.
